The anticipated salary range for this role is between $69,000.00 and $85,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Description
The Credit Control team in the Fund Finance Solutions Department is hiring an Analyst. This role is largely operational and is designed to create efficiency within the current day to day responsibilities of the team. The ideal candidate is not defined by their education or work experience, but their ability to learn new skills and concepts fast, self-motivation, problem solving skills, can-do attitude. Ability to work as part of a team and effectively communicate with team members is crucial, as every task in Credit Control is intertwined.
Role Objectives
- Perform data input and verification for various databases used by the team, and update these on periodic basis
- Find data and evidence from various sources including but not limited to legal documents
- Accurately spread financial information into bank’s template according to provided guidelines, and upload financial information into bank’s system
- Accurately input the data into the bank’s credit system and process the application according to guidelines
- Provide workflow support by monitoring group email, logging and notifying team of new requests, gathering and organizing required files for review
- Fill out various required forms and finalize package for underwriting
- Perform regular and ad hoc tasks

- Must be able to handle large volume of data input and repetitive tasks
- Impeccable attention to detail and sense of urgency to meet deadlines
- Must be able to communicate and develop rapport with team members and other stakeholders
- Willingness to adapt to the ever-changing bank environment
- Appreciation for operational excellence being the driving factor for a successful direct lending business
- Team player who does not view any task as being too big, or too small
- Bachelors Degree required
