The VP of Engineering – FlyWheel will play a critical leadership role in driving the engineering teams that build and manage multiple product areas including our Content, FDTV, Fantasy, Retail, Racing and F2P teams. You will lead a talented team of engineers responsible for building and maintaining the platform services that power our products and services. This role requires a blend of communications, strategic thinking, technical expertise, and strong leadership skills to ensure our platform is scalable, reliable, and aligned with the company’s objectives.

In this role, you will develop and execute the strategic vision for the Flywheel engineering organization, ensuring it aligns with the overall business objectives. Collaboration with executive leadership is crucial to define platform goals, metrics, and roadmaps. You will lead, mentor, and inspire a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Attracting, retaining, and developing top engineering talent is key to building a high-performing and motivated team.
You will oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, reliable, and secure platforms and services, ensuring the platform supports the needs of various product teams and stakeholders by providing robust APIs, tools, and frameworks. Implementing best practices for engineering, including continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), monitoring, and incident response, is essential to maintain operational excellence. Ensuring high availability, performance, and security of platform services with a focus on minimizing downtime and technical debt is a critical responsibility.
Collaboration and communication are fundamental to this role. You will work closely with product management, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs. Communicating Flywheel engineering plans, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders ensures transparency and alignment. Staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices is vital to drive innovation and competitive advantage. You will evaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and processes to enhance platform capabilities and efficiency.
Managing the Flywheel engineering budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources, and investment in strategic initiatives is another key responsibility. Optimizing resource utilization to balance short-term needs with long-term platform growth and sustainability is essential.
