Job Overview

As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improve the health and clinical care of patients.

 

The College of Medicine Department of Cancer Biology is seeking a highly motivated and talented Research Assistant to join our research team at the University of Cincinnati to Assist with the coordination of laboratory projects or research studies in a particular discipline, makes independent contributions to projects and studies based on professional training or functional experience. The individual will be contributing to projects of mechanistic and translational liver disease research, specifically investigating the metabolic dysregulation underlying Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD), Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH), and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Working closely with the Principal Investigator, the incumbent will utilize advanced in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro models to uncover novel disease mechanisms and identify therapeutic targets.

Essential Functions

  • Perform experiments and record data according to research protocols.
  • Interpret data and assist in judging validity of data. May perform statistical and graphical analysis of data.
  • Assist in animal colony management and animal husbandry.
  • Apply research principles for less complex assignments.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
