Job Description
This individual is considered a subject-matter expert in areas that include Quality Systems, Assurance, and Control, Continuous Improvement & OPEX, CAPEX Management (cPMO Liaison) and a broad scope of quality and engineering topics. This leader will know how to develop quality, CI, OPEX, and CAPEX programs and support and drive improved performance throughout the global supply chain utilizing Key Performance Indicators and Lean tools.
Duties include:
Management
- Assess, scope, and build Quality, Continuous Improvement, and CAPEX systems across multiple manufacturing sites capable of supporting company’s goals and innovative product objectives that meet’s our customer expectations.
- Perform management responsibilities including but not limited to planning, organizing, delegating, evaluating, budgeting, scheduling, hiring, and training.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends, developments, standards, regulations/laws, issues, news and customer requirements.
- Lead division continuous improvement program to drive efficiency and waste out of the business across all functions through a thorough action plan method.
- Perform financial and other metric analysis to help define overall organization concerns and develop future targets and focus areas.
- Lead the CAPEX planning and execution for all sites following the cPMO guidelines and direction. Develop 5-year planning for all CAPEX projects.
- Enthusiastically collaborate and drive a culture of quality, reliability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Quality
- Understand customer needs and requirements to develop an effective quality management system. Oversee case management and root cause and countermeasure activity.
- Devise and establish a system of procedures, standards, and specifications to meet internal and external (customer and legal/regulatory) requirements and develop KPI’s and report to measure.
- Leverage cross functional team to analyze quality issues within the manufacturing processes. Drive product and process improvements to ensure that our products meet or exceed quality and reliability requirements.
- Develop, formulate, and guide integrated quality control programs that involve advanced inspection methods, devices, and control techniques.
- Establish a system to track, record, and maintain quality assurance data.
- Evaluate, monitor, and report on supplier quality systems.
- Implement and ensure adherence to an engineering change control process.
Continuous Improvement / Engineering
- Maintain robust continuous improvement program in alignment with central OPEX (Operational Excellence) department.
- Guide research and development efforts in accordance with company objectives and customer/consumer requirements.
- Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand to plan and assess feasibility of projects.
- Lead CAPEX program requests through research, financial justification and project management.
- Provide engineering support, product testing, and product life-cycle management for all existing products and equipment.
- Provide direction and guidance to all plant/site engineers by defining objectives, standard work, and training & development.
- Analyze resource demand for engineering and determine and changes in resource allocation or changes to adapt to the needs of operational output and support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and 8+ years related experience.
- 5+ years managerial experience
- Previous quality and continuous improvement experience in working in a high paced manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, communicate, and execute a multi-year global Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement strategy.
