About the role

As a D365 F&O Technical Solutions Architect can expect to…

Act as Technical Solution Architect (TSA) on projects implementing D365 FSC solutions
Perform technical solution advisory role during the analysis phase
- Ensure solution components are planned and deployed appropriately
- Ensure solution development will follow best practices
- Ensure solution integrations are implemented via the appropriate patterns
Lead project technical workstreams
- Manage technical resources contributing to your projects
Facilitate or effectively delegate technical planning sessions, design sessions and workshops
Own technical sections of the Solution Blueprint Document describing:
- Key technical aspects of solution software and hardware components
- High level technical approaches for key extensions/customizations
- Key requirements for solution integrations and planned implementation pattern
Contribute to the functional design process (extensions, customizations, integrations) as follows:
- Understand the business requirements driving the functional design
- Perform or effectively delegate research of source code behind solution gaps
- Perform or effectively delegate research into integration capabilities of software integrating with D365 FSC
- Look for opportunities to modify a functional design to simplify the requisite development work.
Convert or effectively delegate functional designs into technical design documents (TDD) ensuring:
- Technical solution consistency
- Best practices are followed
- Ensure business requirements will be satisfied
Estimate project technical tasks
- T-shirt size estimation during the analysis phase of the project
- Refined estimation during the design phase coinciding with TDD creation
Oversee D365 FSC solution technical configuration
Oversee project development tasks (extensions, customizations, integrations)
- TSA should look for opportunities to delegate efficiently.
- TSA is expected to implement solution extensions themselves as needed.
Mentor junior technical resources both on-shore and off-shore.
Perform ongoing advanced support services to clients; Works with development team to resolve issues

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
5+ years of experience x++ development
7+ years of full life cycle implementation experience with D365 F&O (and prior versions)
10+ years of technical experience with related technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft .NET, Active Directory, Data Migration Framework (DMF), and Azure DevOps
Experience delivering major upgrades of AX 2009, AX 2012 to Dynamics 365 FSC
Specific knowledge of core D365 FSC development tools, including X++, C# and experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) within D365 F&O
Experience translating business requirements into technical specifications and interfacing with functional team members to translate these requirements into deliverables
Demonstrated ability to deliver configuration/advanced customizations, client-side enhancements, integrations and programming in D365 Solution
Ability to triage and fix bugs/issues and utilize MS provided technical resources
Previous experience working within a structured implementation environment with structured development methodologies and standards; Agile Methodology is a plus
Familiarity and/or experience with D365 F&O Workflow
At least two D365 F&O technical certifications
