Duties and Responsibilities

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is seeking a Senior Database Analyst (SQL) to join our Technology team! As a Senior Database Analyst (SQL) will be responsible for the design, implementation, patching, and ongoing maintenance of all database instances on multiple environments, including the release process for system and schema changes. The Senior Database Analyst will also perform database query analysis, performance, and optimization and coordination of stored procedures and maintaining an appropriate database access layer. In addition, the Senior Database Analyst is responsible for database performance, scalability, replication, and database reporting.The Senior Database Analyst (SQL) reports to the SQL Services Database Administrator. This position requires exceptional technical, analytical and collaboration skills. The successful candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively, precisely, and accurately across all levels of the organization.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Skill in SQL Server database administration
• Skill in working in Windows operating systems
• Skill as a SQL developer
• Skill in creating stored procedures
•  Skill in supporting SQL Server data replication and validation
• Skill with SQL Server software installation, patching, and upgrading
• .Ability to work independently and to resolve complex issues
•  Ability to effectively diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex problems pertaining to server and data infrastructure
• Ability to write T- SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, and Database Triggers
•  Ability to Tune SQL and T-SQL queries for performance
• Operational support skills, including experience with system installations, migrations and upgrades
• Knowledge of Windows scripting
• Skill in logical database design and data models
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle proce
