Summary of the Role:  

• You will be responsible for ensuring that business requirements related to data migration are captured, validated, and business use cases are documented. 

• You are expected to plan, implement, and manage the migration of data from the legacy systems to the new system software/applications. 

• You will play a key role in liaising with Business and Technology team to realise the data migration requirements, while enabling best in class customer experiences. 

 

We’re looking for someone who: 

• Has high level of accuracy and attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities, logical thinking with data protection acumen. 

• Has good experience in handling various complex data migration projects in a banking domain preferably in lending space. 

• Has good working knowledge of database systems, design, and management. 

• Has experience in working with large data in variety of formats, tables, and structures. 

• Possess strong analytical skills and the ability to recognize patterns in the data set and structure. 

• Has the ability to evaluate the data sources and foresee obstacles that the data might cause during the migration process. 

• Has managed multiple stakeholders across various verticals within the bank. 

• Has the ability to clearly document the data migration strategy in JIRA or Confluence, present it to the relevant stakeholders for review and sign off within the given timeframe. 

• Has extensively worked in data clean-up activities such as identifying and correcting/removing errors, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies in the data set, table, database, and improving its quality and usability. 

• Has experience in pre-migration planning process, defining migration scope, and verified destination system data requirements. 

• Has involved in data migration planning and design reviews, conducted formal review meetings with the stakeholders, and implemented migration testing strategies. 

• Has experience in designing migration test strategy and identify the right tool for testing such as automated tool to compare source and destination data. 

• Has managed post migration testing and verification of migrated data to the new system. 

 

You will need to show us that you can: 

• Effectively manage data migration process and procedures with complex data structures and tables.  

• Manage and engage with multiple stakeholders across various levels cutting across multiple departments in the bank in an Agile environment. 

• Proven track record of business engagement and of being the link between business and technical communities. 

• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate key issues, risks and challenges backed up with strong data evidence.  

• Define and document the migration requirements, and recommend appropriate solution, modifications, configurations, and processes and get sign off from the relevant stakeholders. 

• Own the data mapping sheet and interacts with Business Stakeholders and IT teams to identify, document, and finalise the data elements to be migrated. 

• Develop and propose data migration best practices and to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines. 

• Have a methodical and logical approach to migration planning, organization, and progress monitoring. 

• Manages the identification, resolution and escalation of migration risks and issues. 

• Proven ability to provide technical guidance and assistance to colleagues as appropriate.
