Summary:

The Advanced Practice Provide is responsible for delivering comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and management of both acute and chronic conditions for patients at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in the Radiation Medicine Clinic. This includes assessing physical symptoms, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing individualized treatment plans, and prescribing appropriate medications. The provider will offer ongoing care and support throughout the patient’s medical journey, ensuring continuity, quality, and compassion at every stage.

The starting rate for an APP is $121,038 - $133,124 (based on experience) and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

Nurse Practitioner Educational Path:
1. License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York; and
2. Current New York State Nurse Practitioner certification; and
3. Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other national certifying body recognized by Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA); and
4. Master’s or higher-level degree in Nursing.
NOTE: As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other national certifying body recognized by Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) within nine (9) months of their appointment to this title as required by Medicare.

OR

Physician Assistant Educational Path:
1. License to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of New York; and
2. Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission for Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA) or other national certifying body recognized by the New York State Education Department; and
3. Bachelor’s or higher-level degree in Physician Assistant Studies; or
4. Bachelor’s or higher-level degree and completion of a Physician Assistant Certificate Program recognized by the New York State Education Department.

AND

NOTE:
1. As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of their appointment to this title.
2. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred candidates will have experience as a mid-level provider in the treatment and management of patients undergoing radiation medicine, along with a strong understanding of oncology care and the unique needs of cancer patients. Experience managing a high-volume radiation service and addressing radiation-related side effects across a wide range of disease sites is highly valued. Familiarity with Mosaiq, radiation planning systems, and diagnostic software, as well as experience reviewing and interpreting radiation diagnostic scans, is also preferred.
