The John Carroll School, an independent, college-preparatory, co-educational Catholic school for grades 9–12, established in 1964 and located on 72 acres in Bel Air, Maryland, is currently seeking a full-time, hourly Maintenance Technician. Flexible hours may include weekends. Reporting to the Building Superintendent, the Maintenance Technician will provide maintenance support and work alongside the Building Superintendent and is considered an essential employee.
Essential Functions
- Completing assigned work order requests
- Carrying out periodic maintenance
- Carrying out event set-ups (staging, tables, chairs, projection screens, etc.)
- Assist with basic electrical and plumbing repairs
- Following detailed written instructions
- Providing written records of work performed as needed
- Maintaining organization in Facilities spaces
- Consistently communicating work progress or any problems to the Building Superintendent.
- Utilizing Personal Protective Equipment and practicing safe work habits, including lock-out/tag-out
- Other duties as assigned or necessitated by school operations
Qualifications
- Groundskeeping if the facility contains lawns or other outdoor areas in need of maintenance
- Interpersonal skills to interact with employees or residents of the building in a pleasant manner
- Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked
- Physical stamina to handle a full shift of being active and working on the building
Range: $15.00 – 16.00, Hourly
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
