Join Our Team as an Office Assistant – Foster Care
$15/hour | Contingent | Up to 44 bi‑weekly hours | Flexible Schedule

In this role, you’ll provide essential reception, clerical, and administrative support, while reflecting our core values: People First, Communication, Quality Service, Stewardship, and Innovation.
This position plays a direct role in supportive visitation and foster care parenting time supervision, and contributes to the day‑to‑day operations that keep our center running smoothly. You’ll help with billing, uploading documents, entering visit notes in MiSACWIS, and assisting staff across programs—making you an essential part of our mission.
Enjoy a flexible schedule, with the ability to work independently, while participating in occasional in‑person team meetings in Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Provides general office, receptionist and clerical assistance that contributes to the day to day operations of the center and adhering to the Samaritas Values of People First, Communication, Quality Service, Stewardship and Innovation. Job Qualifications
Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate’s degree desired.
Experience
- One year clerical experience preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read, speak and write fluently. Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills; ability to respond to and appropriately handle telephone calls, inquiries and implement follow-up with the goal to be best in class with excellent customer service, externally and internally.
- Ability to effectively utilize various Microsoft computer software applications, i.e. Word, Excel (basic knowledge), Outlook, OneDrive, and other software programs.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and implement tasks and projects with minimal assistance.
- Ability to display compassion and sensitivity in all situations, being mindful of the Samaritas mission of serving people as an expression of the love of Christ.
- Ability to adhere to agency confidentiality policy.
