The role:
The Clinical Nurse Educator - Palliative Care (CNE) operates as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering palliative care services to patients, their families, and carers across the respective region of Tasmania. The CNE is responsible for:
- Facilitating and supporting the development of nursing team members by planning, promoting, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating education programs in palliative care.
- Providing professional advanced clinical leadership and expertise in the delivery of clinical advice, assessment and interventions based on best practice in the health care management of people with a life limiting illness.
- Contributing to learning and development programs for other health disciplines and volunteers.

The Team - Specialist Palliative Care Service North - Primary Health North, located at 33-39 Howick Street, Launceston, 7250:
The Specialist Palliative Care Service is a small team made up of medical, nursing, allied health and administrative staff. All staff work collaboratively to support palliative clients in multiple care settings including hospital inpatients, hospice, RACF & community. Palliative care is an ever-increasing population within health care, who are primarily support by core primary providers such as GPs, community nursing and home care services. The specialist palliative care service provides expertise, consultation & and a multi-disciplinary approach to assessment & management for complex palliative clients across the entire North/Northeast region Tasmania. Our service sits under Primary Health North and collaborates with all community services in the shared care of clients across the region.
Details of appointments:
Permanent part time, day worker position, working up to 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible.
Fixed term part time, day worker position, working up to 45.6 hours per fortnight, commencing from 11 December 2024 until 17 February 2026.

Salary: $111,506 to $118,336 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023 and Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Interim Agreement 2013
