Associate Director, Cell Therapy Program Lead

We are hiring an Associate Director, Cell Therapy Program Leader. Reporting to the Vice President, Immunology and Pharmacology, this position will lead multiple cross-functional Cell Therapy drug development program teams. As Program Leader, this individual will also manage academic collaborations and CRO activities. This role will be based in Emeryville, California.
How you’ll contribute:
- Accountable for the design and execution of research plans, including development candidate selection and preparing a roadmap through to IND submission.
- Responsible for researching new scientific approaches and platforms for cell therapy using datasets from literature, competitive intelligence, and other relevant sources. Prepare summaries and presentations for discussion with senior management
- Responsible for leading due diligence efforts with potential industry and academic partners
- Motivate and lead a cross-functional team of talented Scientists and Research Associates
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to deliver pivotal datasets to support development candidate selection and regulatory approval
- Prepare accurate and timely program summaries and contribute to the writing of papers and patent applications
- Contribute to appropriate governance bodies to establish strategic directions, deliver critical objectives and accelerate product development.
- Participate and present in meetings with business partners, academic institutions, regulatory agencies, and other institutions.
Must haves:
- A Ph.D. degree in Immunology or other relevant biological scientific discipline, with at least ten years of postgraduate experience, at least five years of industry experience
- Track record of successfully leading the discovery and therapeutic candidate selection in oncology and/or immune disorders
- Significant cross-functional leadership experience working and collaborating with other functions
- Highly organized and able to effectively manage time and workflows, including prioritizing short-and long-term goals and deliverables
- Ability to multitask, react quickly, and maintain a calm and thoughtful approach at difficult times
- Strong communication and presentation skills, experience representing the company in scientific and other external meetings
- Highly motivated, high integrity standards, a positive attitude, and a commitment to developing life-saving medicines for patients.
California Pay Transparency Disclosure:
This position is classified as an exempt salaried position under the Federal Labor Standards Act. The anticipated base salary range for this position will be $191,000 -$206,000. You will also be eligible to receive equity, bonuses, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits depending on the position offered. Please note that individual total compensation for this position will be determined at the Company’s sole discretion and may vary based on location, skill level, years and depth of relevant experience, and education.
