Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assists the Supervisor in the day-to-day operations of an assigned department. Disburses schedules and ensure as smooth workflow through the department, conducts material inspections and quality audits of WIP and any finished items, monitors inventory levels.

Provides direction and troubleshoots with department associates as needed to ensure a smooth production flow

Coordinates the department materials set-up working off the schedule, controlling the workflow to operators

Conducts material inspections and quality audits on sewn items. Coordinates and/or handles the repairs as needed

Monitors inventory levels and brings materials to the department from storage areas as needed

Assists with on-the-job training for associates newly assigned to the department as well as with current associates regarding any new procedures

Assists the operators in the basic repair and maintenance of equipment. Notifies the Supervisor of any equipment needs or concerns

Performs all duties according to established safety and efficiency procedures and champions a safety culture. Maintains work area in a neat, clean and orderly fashion

Job Factors/Work Environments

Job is very physical in nature. Requires frequent periods of driving, sitting, and standing, as well as descending up and down steps to enter and exit yard dog and tractor/trailer.
