Workday is seeking a Principal Procurement Strategist who is passionate about process improvement and wants to make their mark on a growing organization. Reporting directly to the Sr Manager, Performance & Innovation within the Procurement Center of Excellence, this highly skilled individual contributor will define the process and policy strategy, mapping it against best-in-class, and identify and drive operational efficiencies and process excellence for the organization.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Introduce innovative ideas that help achieve desired business outcomes and monitor progress through process metrics
Blending skills in consulting, process improvement, and process governance, you will serve as a trusted advisor to procurement leaders and teams to inform process innovation, deliver process thought leadership, and design efficient and mature processes
Responsible for policy and procedure governance
Collaborate across the entire organization and especially with the Systems & Tools and Project Management teams on process enhancement
About You
Basic Qualifications
8+ years of professional experience in consulting, process improvement, or business operations
5+ years of Source-to-Pay process experience
Process and policy design and implementation experience
Bachelor's Degree
Other Qualifications
Certification of operational improvement methodologies or experience applying operational improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
Ability to both delve into the details of operational tactics and engage meaningfully on the big picture or overall strategy
Be driven by intellectual curiosity to understand processes and propose novel approaches
Strong presence and interpersonal skills to interact and influence teams, executives, colleagues, and cross-functional teams
Ability to identify dependencies between complex processes/programs/projects and determine impact
Creative problem solver with a bias for action, understanding the value of structure while balancing the need for agility and innovation within that framework
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill complex thoughts into simple, actionable recommendations; strong presence in front of senior executives
Proactive, result oriented, with a can-do attitude in meeting critical deliverables

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
