Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the independently incorporated Planned Parenthood affiliates operating health centers across the U.S. Planned Parenthood Action Fund is an independent, nonpartisan, not-for-profit membership organization formed as the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. The Action Fund engages in educational, advocacy, and electoral activity, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education.
Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund seek an Awareness & Training Manager (temporary staff). This job reports to the Director of Awareness & Training in the Chief Information Office of PPFA. The Chief Information Office delivers innovative and reliable data, technology, information security capabilities across the National Office & Federation. Purpose: This role will work within a multi-disciplined team to assist in the development and delivery of ongoing education, training, and awareness on such topics as data protection, information security, application development, cyberthreats, system outages and deployments, as well as team achievements and goals. This role will assist in program improvement and measurement.
Delivery:
●Develop effective internal program messaging, awareness and training materials. ●Manage the development and delivery of internal communications (service alerts, newsletters etc.). ●Draft and publish content for the program's internal website. ●Collaborate with branding and education professionals to produce presentations, training, documentation, and awareness campaigns for various audiences, including senior leadership. ●Assist in communications or messages to senior leadership and emergency notifications. ●Assist in measuring program communications and training approaches.●Other duties, special projects, and initiatives, as assigned by the Office of the CIO. ●Manage the development, preparation, and delivery of team events (including bi-monthly team meetings), in-person team events, team calendars, team site, and organizational documents.
Engagement:
●Engage with various team members and staff across PPFA and Affiliates. ●Comfortable interacting with both executive and general staff, and communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences. ●Interact with internal technical subject matter specialists and other organizational team members to assess and determine the most effective awareness and training services.●Display practical knowledge of different message distribution techniques.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
●Bachelor’s degree or equivalent demonstrated experience and knowledge. ●3+ years of experience as a communications, marketing, or training creator. ●Ability to work independently and collaboratively while seeking timely guidance as needed.●Must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion. ●Experience working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and ability to handle stressful situations with ease.●Experience in branding is desired, but not required.●Ability to write complex messaging and training materials in a simple, clear, and concise manner.●Ability to translate technical information into easily understandable information for non-technical audiences.●Ability to create messages and training materials that are inclusive and recognize the diverse audiences that make up our organization. ●Ability to communicate with and coordinate the messages and training activities of multiple subject matter specialists, reviewers, and approvers. ●Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a professional manner. ●Must be well-organized, motivated, and detail-oriented.●Basic understanding of the different concepts of information security and information technology.●Knowledge of diverse groups, working within a multicultural workforce, and sensitivity and appreciation to cultural differences.
TRAVEL: This is an office based role in PPFA’s NYC office. 0-10% travel as needed.
