Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Lead Supervisor of Inflight Operations serves as the highest‑level Inflight leader at an assigned crew base, providing elevated operational oversight, leadership, and employee support. Provides dedicated Inflight leadership aligned to the operational scope, complexity, and staffing profile of the base. Assumes increased accountability for base‑level performance, safety, reliability, and team engagement, while operating within established policies, procedures, and strategic direction set by Inflight Management. Partners closely with Inflight Management to execute operational priorities, address complex employee and operational issues, and ensure consistent application of standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary Inflight leader at an assigned crew base, overseeing day‑to‑day Inflight operations and ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant execution.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and direction to Inflight Supervisors and administrative staff, including setting priorities, assigning work, and ensuring consistent application of policies and procedures.
  • Monitors and evaluate base‑level operational performance, attendance, reliability, and compliance trends; identify issues, recommend solutions, and escalate significant risks or patterns to Inflight Management.
  • Supports and assists Inflight Management with employee performance management, investigations, corrective action processes, and documentation, within defined authority and established guidelines.
  • Maintains an active leadership presence with Flight Attendants to promote accountability, engagement, visibility, and adherence to Inflight standards.
  • Partners with station leadership and internal departments including Crew Scheduling, Crew Pay, Training, Flight Operations, and Safety/Security to support effective base operations.
  • Provides leadership support during normal and irregular operations (IROP), serving as the senior Inflight escalation point for the base as needed.
  • Ensures consistent and appropriate application of the collective bargaining agreement, company policies, and regulatory requirements, escalating complex or precedent‑setting matters to Inflight Management.
  • Supports onboarding, training, coaching, and mentoring of newly assigned Supervisors and administrative staff to ensure readiness and consistency.
  • Assists with administrative oversight at the base level, including coordination of staffing needs, communications, and operational support activities.
  • Represents Inflight Operations in base‑level meetings, briefings, and cross‑functional discussions.
  • Assist with special projects or initiatives as assigned by Inflight Management.
  • Be available as required given the 24/7/365 nature of airline operations.
  • Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Position Specifics

Qualifications

Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of progressively responsible supervisory or leadership experience, preferably within Inflight, airline operations, or a comparable operational environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supporting front‑line teams, including coaching, performance management, and handling employee relations matters.
  • Experience supporting operational performance, attendance, reliability, or compliance processes.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across multiple levels of the organization.
