Starting pay ranges from $24.00-$28.00 hr. 

 

Forklift Operations Specialist is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of forklifts to move materials within the yard, stage material, and load trucks for deliveries. Here are the key responsibilities and requirements for this role:

Responsibilities:

  • Material Handling: Operate forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials to designated areas.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure materials are stored properly and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Safety Compliance: Conduct regular safety checks on forklifts and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and report any issues or damage to the equipment.
  • Coordination: Work with dispatch staff and other team members to ensure efficient material flow.
  • Documentation: Keep detailed logs of forklift operations and material movements.
  • Quality Control: Inspect materials for damage and ensure they meet quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a forklift operator.
  • Skills: Attention to detail, sound logic and reasoning skills, and familiarity with industrial equipment. Knowledge of building material preferred not required.
  • Physical Ability: Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving heavy items. Ability to work outdoors in all seasons and operate a forklift on rough terrain.

This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth operation of material handling processes and ensuring that materials are staged, loaded, unloaded to be transported safely and efficiently.
