The Finance department supports the Global operations of PSI. This includes operations in 60+ countries. Donors including the United States Government, other foreign governments, international organizations, corporations, and private philanthropists come together to support PSI’s mission. The Financial Analyst will provide project financial oversight for a portfolio of countries and donor projects.
PSI seeks a Analyst, Financial who is an Excel expert, who has finance acumen and strong business and analytical abilities. The Analyst, Financial will monitor and analyze financial data to inform risk mitigation and provide timely, thoughtful financial insight to aid program management decisions.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with project and program managers, as part of the program management team, to perform the Monthly Project Financial Review (MPFR) process and analyze project budgets, actual expenses, commitments, obligations, and burn rates and leads financial analysis to identify trends, flag potential issues, and recommend actions to senior management.
- Review financial reports prior to submission to funders; in some cases provide detailed input for preparation of financial reports.
- Provide quality control for financial management of subawards, including reviewing and processing subrecipient invoices and cash requests, with more in-depth monitoring when required.
- Support development of the department’s piece of the annual operating budget (corporate budget), including re-forecasting, and the quarterly reviews of annual operating budget progress for senior management (surplus/deficit meetings).
- Support in developing project budgets and realignment in collaboration with the program management team.
- Maintain a dashboard to monitor the financial health of the region, including surplus/deficit, program income, and overhead.
- Review and process Operating Advance Requests (monthly cash request) from field offices or provide inputs as needed.

What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree (or international equivalent) in a related field
- At least 5 years of related experience in Finance, Accounting, or similar analytical field. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted.
- Expert Excel user, including pivot tables and advanced functions; familiarity with data query tools is helpful.
- Fluent in English required. Fluent in French, Spanish, Portuguese or regional languages desired.
- Familiarity with USAID and international donors rules and regulations.
- Experience living or working outside the U.S. preferred.
