Position Details

The Office of Access and Community Programs at The University of Tampa has an opening for an Administrative Assistant who will provide advanced, responsible and complex administrative work in a fast-paced environment. This position will report to the Vice President.

Responsibilities
•    Serve as primary administrative support to the Vice President; assist and anticipate needs; schedule meetings; represent office and serve as initial contact with the public
•    Make travel arrangements. 
•    Attend and/or assist with meetings, conferences, and special events.
•    Ability to take minutes; compose and prepare correspondence.
•    Maintain confidential information, records, and office and database files.
•    Receive, sort, and distribute mail.
•    Perform office/administrative duties.
•    Monitor office or department budget, correct and/or balance items or accounts; check figures and forms for accuracy; prepare forms and records for budgets, grant applications, personnel actions and other forms.
•    Provide policy or procedural information.
•    Order office equipment and supplies, and maintain inventory.
•    Ability to supervise various clerical or student personnel. 
•    Maintain the calendar of a senior staff person.
•    Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of all cultures and backgrounds. 


Qualifications
•    High school diploma or equivalent, with a bachelor’s degree preferred.
•    Two (2) years of related work experience.
•    Knowledge of modern office functions and procedures.
•    Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and organizational skills needed as well as the ability to establish priorities and manage time wisely.
•    Knowledge of basic foundations of compliance with a vested interest in growth. 
•    Knowledge of social media marketing tools and newsletter software.

Pay Rate

$23.59 per hour

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Summer:  Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
