We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal / Senior Principal Structural Engineer based out of Linthicum, MD.
This position is a part of our Structures Analysis team within the Hardware Engineering Organization. Our work includes but is not limited to Airborne Multifunctional Sensors such as Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Radars.
What You’ll Get to Do:
This position includes both leadership and support of analysts and direct execution of structural analysis projects on airborne, shipboard, and ground based structures. Analysis tasks will encompass loads development, stress analysis (static and fatigue), and vibration analysis of metallic and composite structures. Structural Lead tasks will include mentoring, estimating, planning, staffing recommendations, preparation of deliverable documentation and statusing program customers. Structural analysts are expected to work closely with Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads/Product Owners to meet aggressive schedules, develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems, and advise program and functional management on technical risks and opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performing structural analysis on aerospace, shipboard, ground based, and space radar systems and structures.
Loads development, stress analysis (static and fatigue), and vibration analysis of metallic and composite structures.
Performing classical structural analysis, as well as finite element analysis is essential. Utilizing excellent written and verbal communication skills is important for clear communication of results through reports and presentations.
Collaborate in a team environment, mentor less experienced personnel, prioritize and organize tasks to support program milestones.
This position is contingent upon contract award, ability to obtain an active U.S Government Secret Clearance or the successful transfer of an active US. Government Secret Clearance prior to start.
This position can be filled as a Principal Structural Engineer or a Senior Principal Structural Engineer
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Structural Engineer:
Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of experience, master’s degree with 3 years of experience, Ph.D. with 1 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related technical fields.
U.S Citizenship is required.
The ability to obtain an active DoD Secret clearance.
A current/active clearance is not required to be considered for the position, but a final clearance is required to start
5 years of experience classical structural and finite element analysis including static, non-linear, modal, and vibration analysis.
