Classification Summary:
• Provide leadership and instruction in the Associate Degree in Nursing Program.
• Prepare program budget and oversee fiscal administration.
• Recruit, assign, supervise and evaluate program faculty.
• Manage class scheduling and clinical assignments of students and faculty.
• Teach the equivalent of 5-6 credit hours over fall and spring semesters. Teaching assignment may include day, evenings, weekends, and/or multiple campus locations.
• Develop, revise and update curriculum in collaboration with the department faculty and director or chair.
• May develop and teach online courses. Instruct, support, advise and provide timely feedback to students in accordance with DACC policy and procedures.
• Review the curriculum and instructional processes in the clinical and simulation laboratory setting.
• Develop and implement an orientation program for new faculty. Serve as a role model of effective teaching. Assist with clinical worksite development.
• Participate in and serve on department, division, and college committees, program advisory councils, task forces and working groups.
• Maintain professional and academic competence and participate in professional development activities.
• As appropriate, assist with cooperative education and student placement.
• Maintain office hours as mandated by division and college policy.
• Function as advisor to students, both individually and as assigned to student clubs and groups.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Classification Standard Duties:

Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency
• Master's Degree in Nursing. Degree must be in hand by date of hire.
• Current New Mexico licensure, or a compact state license, or eligibility to obtain a New Mexico license to practice as a registered nurse required.
• Five (5) years related teaching experience that reflects recent developments in Nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Five years of Community college/post-secondary teaching experience.
• Practice in a clinical setting within the past five (5) years.
