Production Engineer
DanfossAbout the role
Job Description
Are you motivated by a strong team spirit and eager to use your technical expertise to optimize production equipment and ensure high quality?
Then you might be the right person to become our new colleague as Production Engineer at Danfoss Building Solutions in Silkeborg.
We are currently looking for a skilled and experienced Production Engineer with a "Hands-On" attitude to join our ambitious team.
You will have a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the production of Danfoss' flagship products - the well-known radiator thermostat and its accompanying valves.
In collaboration with 17 colleagues, you will ensure stable production on highly automated equipment. You will be part of a highly skilled team dedicated to optimizing production and maximizing our potential capacity.
The location of this role is in Silkeborg, DK. We expect you to work on-site on a regular basis and speaking Danish is a requirement.
Danfoss Silkeborg
The Silkeborg campus is located in Haarup, east of Silkeborg, close to the highway between Herning and Aarhus. Approximately 270 production employees and about 240 office staff work at the Silkeborg campus. We supply various valves, thermostats, and district heating units to most of the global market and serve as a competence center for manufacturing brass components and radiator thermostats.
Job Responsibilities
As our new Production Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring optimal operations and quality in our highly automated factory - with a particular focus on CNC machining of brass components.
You will plan and execute various technical projects across the factory and be involved in both daily support and long-term improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting daily production, especially in CNC machining of turned parts and valve houses.
- Optimizing tooling, clamping systems, and technical documentation.
- Contributing to quality improvements using tools such as PFMEAs and control plans.
- Managing technical optimizations, stabilization, cost-reduction initiatives and projects, including machinery investments.
- Driving implementation of new product variants and production equipment in the machining area.
- Participating in LEAN activities and identifying opportunities for production efficiency.
In addition, you will take part in introducing and refining quality processes, support IATF16949 implementation, and help shape continuous improvements across production.
Background & Skills
You hold a relevant technical education, such as mechanical or Production Engineer, Bachelor in Technology Management and Marine Engineering, or Technician – or another mid-level qualification with a practical focus.
You bring hands-on experience from a technical environment, ideally within process optimization, quality improvements, LEAN, or technical project work. Industry experience from steel or brass machining is a plus but not a requirement.
We expect that you:
- Have experience with CNC machining, automation, and familiarity with 2D/3D CAD and technical drawings.
- Collaborate well across functions and bring a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Adapt easily in a dynamic environment and enjoy both hands-on tasks and long-term development projects.
- Work independently with a structured approach and a good overview.
- Communicate fluently in both Danish and English, written and spoken.
At Danfoss, we believe that a diverse and inclusive workplace fosters creativity, innovation, and a broader perspective in decision-making. Even if you do not check all the boxes for this job posting, we encourage you to apply anyway.
