The Team:
- Working as an integral part of a small team of clinical nurse consultants and paramedics
- Working within a larger communications centre dealing with statewide Emergency ambulance calls
- A combination of day, afternoon and night shifts will be required
The Role:
Reporting to the Manager Integrated Care, the Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) - Secondary Triage Clinician supports delivery of the Ambulance Tasmania (AT) Secondary Triage Service using advanced clinical skills and knowledge to determine the most appropriate health care pathway for patients
You will need:
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal, negotiating and influencing skills to gain acceptance of ideas and the ability to adapt to accommodate constantly changing situations and individuals.
- Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills and the ability to be clear, concise and accurate when both collecting and conveying complex information.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively identify and apply an advanced level of clinical judgement to respond respectfully and compassionately to the needs of patients, relatives and other stakeholders.

Details of appointment:
*Permanent, part time, shift worker positions, working 40 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Fixed Term, full time, shift worker, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 17 November 2025.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicants.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

Four years post qualification experience as a Registered Nurse

Experience in triaging patients and/or telephone triage
-
Emergency Services call taking and/or dispatch
- Competent keyboarding skills - Excel and Word capability
