Repsol is seeking a Production Engineering intern to support the Production Engineering Team within the Marcellus Business Unit.

  • Internship will be based out of our field office in Horseheads, New York, Monday-Friday, 40 hrs./week for 12 weeks.
  • The internship will begin on Monday May 19 and conclude on Friday August 8. (Must be available for the full program period)
  • Interns receive a competitive hourly salary based on the degree in process as of May 2025.
  • Intern activities, Lunch & Learns, and an Intern Project will be organized, to add to your experience and expand your industry knowledge.

Job Description: The successful candidate will be assigned a project within an area of interest to be supervised by a senior member of the Production Engineering Team, to collaborate as follows:

  • Conduct well integrity analysis and provide support through using industry specific tools/tests.
  • Conduct well intervention and workover activities: Open wells tool, daily programs, site visits.
  • Troubleshoot plunger lift wells: Plunger type, plunger settings, etc.
  • Surveillance of unconventional wells: Nodal analysis, production history analysis, decline curve and volumetric analyses into reservoir evaluation.
  • Participate in forecasting to both existing wells and new drills.

Requirements for Consideration:

  • Fully authorized to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship now or in the future. Additionally, we are not authorized for employment under OPT/CPT/F1 visa programs.
  • Undergrad (or higher) Engineering degree in process, preferably within Chemical, Petroleum, Natural Gas, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Students with an expected graduation 2026-2027 are encouraged to apply (juniors or sophomores). Masters and Ph.D. students may also be considered.
  • Must have cumulative and major GPA of 3.3 or higher, to be confirmed with transcript (unofficial transcript is acceptable)
  • Must be available for a continuous 12-week period for the duration of the 2025 summer intern program, starting May 19th and ending on August 8th. 
  • Preference for candidates with prior internship experience, ideally within oil & gas but not required.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to evaluate a diverse array of technical and strategic topics.
  • Detail-oriented, a strong analytical background.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite of Products.
  • Demonstrate an understanding and enthusiasm for the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with a variety of technical and non-technical staff.
  • Able to work independently and within in a team.
  • Professional conduct is fundamental to success in this position.
