Responsibilities
The Maintenance Manager is accountable for all maintenance services including contractor and 3rd party maintenance support at the St. Gabriel, LA site. This leadership position is vital to driving world-class maintenance and reliability programs to sustain Safe, Reliable and Cost Effective Operations. This position reports to the Site Manager and is a key member of the Site Leadership Team.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the Maintenance Department and provides leadership to the Maintenance Team Manager, Planners, Facilities Coordinator, Reliability Engineer, Predictive Maintenance Specialist, Mechanics and I&E Technicians to deliver high-performing maintenance services to the site including contractor and 3rd party maintenance support.
- Develop Maintenance organizational capabilities to deliver world class reliability and cost performance.
- Define the HSES performance standards for the Maintenance department and drive programs to achieve a Zero incident mindset culture.
- Implement World Class Maintenance Processes (Planning & Scheduling, Preventive and Predictive Maintenance strategies) to drive asset reliability and ongoing reliability improvements.
- Ability to establish strong relationship/partnership with Operations, HSES, Engineering and other functional areas.
- Manage multiple conflicting site-wide priorities to balance schedule compliance and cost-effective resource allocations.
Responsibilities Continued
- Develop and manage annual maintenance budget to support the site business plan and long-range strategy.
- Collaborate with Procurement to select equipment vendors and define spare parts strategy.
- Periodically evaluate program's effectiveness and modify accordingly to ensure optimum reliability/cost benefits are maintained.
- Ensure the development and management of departmental cost savings programs.
- Continually evaluate methodologies, work practices, etc., to improve equipment integrity, reliability, and reduce Plant production costs.
- Select and qualify contractors for maintenance work to meet safety, quality, cost and deadline targets.
- Collaborate with Operations/HSES departments to achieve safety, environmental and regulatory goals.
- Utilize key performance indicators to continually improve planning, scheduling and work execution effectiveness.
- Work closely with operations to understand work priorities and resource allocation.
- Know and role model the principles outlined in the Eastman Fair Treatment Policy, Eastman’s Core Values (Basic Safety Expectations and Eastman Advantage) and other company and area specific policies.
- Represent Maintenance on the Site Leadership Team
- Ensure site mechanical integrity program meets or exceeds requirements of all corporate SOP’s, regulations and industry best practices using a risk-based approach.
- Ensure Root Cause Analyses (RCA’s) are performed as necessary to identify and eliminate equipment failures resulting in large expenses or lost production.
- Represent Pace site on Eastman’s World-wide Maintenance and Reliability team.
- Manage process unit turnarounds to ensure all work is executed safely, on-schedule and on budget.
- Adjust organization structure, as necessary, to accomplish current workloads on a competitive basis.
