ECU Department of Campus Recreation and Wellness is currently hiring several Swim Instructors. Swim Instructors will deliver engaging swim lessons to participants of all ages and skill levels, ensuring a safe and positive aquatic learning environment.

Responsibilities:

Teach structured swim lessons to various groups, including children, adolescents, and adults.
Develop and implement effective lesson plans tailored to participant skill levels and learning objectives.
Provide constructive feedback and positive reinforcement to enhance participants’ swimming skills.
Ensure participant safety throughout lessons and maintain open communication with participants and guardians.
Document participants’ progress and provide recommendations for continued skill development.
Support the promotion and registration processes for swim programs.
Deliver excellent customer service and foster a welcoming environment.

GPA Requirement Minimum of 2.0 Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.)

Qualifications:

Must have valid Water Safety Instructor certification or relevant experience teaching swim lessons.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Availability for flexible scheduling including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Previous swim instruction experience is preferred.
Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with various participants and families.
