Job Description:

Summary:

As part of the LITADS project, the undergraduate research assistant hired for this position will be asked to read storyboards and watch partisan political ads aired in presidential election years from 2000-2020.

Responsibilities:

  • Content analyze and code (enter into an Excel spreadsheet) specific information about the ads following a detailed codebook.

  • The RA would be exposed to the methods and process of research investigating patterns of televised political advertising.

  • We will discuss the goals and coding rules with the RA and ask them to work with a grad student or the PI to analyze trends in Latino-targeted political advertising by comparing results to LITADS data collected in prior years.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Part-Time.

  • 10 hours per week.

Salary Range:

  • $17.50 per hour.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma required.
