Position Information
The Business Coordinator I, under general supervision, provides support and coordination of a variety of CMTS business and financial activities requiring independent judgment, including reviewing CMTS business documents and assisting in developing, monitoring, and reporting accounts, service-block activity, and budget data as directed by the supervisor. The role requires an analytical mindset and the ability to navigate and build reports through financial systems such as Canopy, as well as process transactions through iPayments and FAMIS. The coordinator will also assist with business documentation organization and filing to support operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Reviews and approves CMTS vouchers and requisitions. Reviews and audits reconciliations of multiple CMTS unit accounts. Monitors and reports on CMTS budget activity, including service-block utilization. Prepares monthly and annual financial reports. Provides input to policies and interprets policies and procedures.
Coordinates annual fiscal year closing activities and drafts new fiscal year plans. Coordinates routine fiscal activities for CMTS. Proposes solutions to routine financial and operational problems. Communicates cash handling procedures, coordinates and approves cash handling activities, and implements and coordinates CMTS purchasing activities. Coordinates inventory processes and maintenance of CMTS business files.
Generates and maintains CMTS operational reports, including active project reports, service-block utilization, and workload summaries; may create or update reporting dashboards using Power BI, Canopy, or other CMTS reporting tools.
May serve as a liaison with financial units.
Assists in planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring CMTS business programs or services.
May assist with administration of CMTS contracts and service agreements. Assists in preparing budgets for review by principal investigator(s) or CMTS leadership. Develops financial and statistical analyses and summary reports. Composes correspondence. Assists with administration of unit, program, or project operations.
Participates in the hiring and training of CMTS business staff and/or student workers and may provide supervision. Trains staff on new and existing business procedures and provides policies and regulations to staff.
