Job Summary
Uses standard and sometimes unique procedures and techniques to determine, measure, test, and/or analyze materials and substances.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.  

  • Performs quantitative and qualitative analysis, such as sampling, physical and chemical testing, using manual and electronic equipment.
  • Review and interpret analytical results and produce reports based on results data.
  • Assists in the functioning of the laboratory by:
  • Maintaining and replenishing laboratory supplies of stock solutions, glassware, and general laboratory equipment;
  • Installation of instruments and equipment; and
  • Making periodic inspections of equipment and performing routine calibrations.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Overseeing project timelines and delegating to team accordingly.

Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

  • You must be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • You must be legally eligible to work in the United States. 

A. Experience and Education

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or other industry related field and 1 year experience in laboratory analysis (in addition to education requirement).

Or 

High school diploma or GED and 4 years of relevant work experience. 

B. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

  • Medically cleared for respirator use (passing fit test).  Must be clean shaven
  • Basic computer knowledge i.e. email, file management, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Excel.

  • Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) part of the work day;
  • Required to exert physical effort in handling objects up to 50 pounds part of the work day;
  • Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc.) occasionally;
  • Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements part of the workday;
  • This position requires frequent travel.
