WHAT YOU WILL DO
onX is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst with a passion for driving quality. As an onX Quality Assurance Analyst, you will be responsible for test strategy and testing of onX products across the iOS, Android, and Web platforms. This role will be apart of our Hunt vertical with a focus on testing of hunt specific features, working in tandem with other teams to support the Hunt work.This is a great opportunity to be a part of a dynamic growing company focused on making an impact on the business, and ensuring that we deliver quality products to our customers. This position reports to a Quality Assurance Manager.
As an onX Quality Assurance Analyst, your day to day responsibilities would look like:
(Essential Job Duties)
- Empathy and commitment to the customer: Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues to find root cause, then drive resolution.
- Be an influencer: Influence and communicate effectively about quality with development teams, designers, managers and non-technical audiences including senior product and business management.
- Be the Customer: Understand onX customers’ current and future use cases.
- Test it: Design, create and execute manual test cases for features and bug fixes. Identify candidate test cases for test automation.
- Be Innovative: Continuously learn and apply new QA practices, tools, and technologies. Constantly reassess the value of testing practices and procedures in order to ensure continuous improvement. Identify and evangelize the most scalable, effective and efficient ways to deliver a high-quality product.
- Provide risk analysis to ensure the team has the information necessary to determine production readiness.
- Success through teamwork: Work closely with the development team and peers in QA to ensure test coverage across onX products.
- Other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Supervisor
LOCATION
onX has created a thriving distributed workforce community across several US locations. This position can be performed from an onX corporate office, “Basecamp,” or “Connection Hub”.
- Corporate Offices: onX was founded in Montana with offices in Missoula and Bozeman. If you prefer to work in an office at least part of the time this is a great option.
- Basecamps: onX’s Basecamps are established virtual workforce communities where a sizable number of distributed team members group for work, volunteering, socializing, and adventure.
- Our current Basecamps are located within a 90-mile radius of the following: Austin, TX; Charlotte, NC; Denver, CO; Kalispell, MT; Minneapolis, MN; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; and Seattle, WA.
- Connection Hubs: onX’s Connection Hub locations are smaller, emerging communities of distributed team members.
- Our current Connection Hubs are located within a 60-mile radius of the following: Boise, ID; Charleston, SC; Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Richmond, VA; Spokane, WA; and Vermont.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Three (3) or more years Quality Assurance experience, preferably in an agile environment
- Proven ability to develop and execute effective manual test cases
- Experience with at least one issue tracking system, JIRA preferred
- Demonstrated ability to drive change and find solutions to accomplish QA's strategic direction and successfully reach critical milestones
- An understanding of how APIs and back-end services work
- Ability to effectively balance a development team’s short- and long-term quality needs
- Ability to juggle multiple, sometimes conflicting, expectations
- Ability to find solutions for unstructured problems with minimal supervision
