Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) is seeking a Production Engineering Manager in support of a team of liaison engineers in San Antonio, TX.

This Production Engineering Manager will oversee a team of liaison engineers responsible for heavy aircraft modifications.  This role involves managing the daily activities of ship-side production engineering teams, ensuring that engineering solutions are effectively implemented and aligned with production schedules.  The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise in aircraft modifications, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Production Engineering.
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers, and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Manages, develops, and motivates employees.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science from an accredited course of study, in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in an engineering leadership role (either as a lead or a manager).
  • Excellent communications skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of management, customers, and partners.
  • Master of Science in an engineering discipline.
  • Previous management experience. 
  • Ability to build a safe environment of inclusion, transparency, and trust.
  • Leadership skills to lead and influence positive outcomes.
  • Previous experience in leading, mentoring, and engaging individuals and teams.
  • Experience providing active mentorship and career guidance.
  • Can up-level existing team by hiring high performance talent, growing leaders and helping underperforming members.
  • Can gain trust of team and provide guidance for their careers.

Summary pay range: $129,200 - $174,800
