Overview

Everyone who works for OVG is in the service business and one of our major goals is to provide our guests with a consistent level of excellent service. As part of our Security Staff and/or our Event Staff (Ushers & Ticket Takers), you will be the primary contact for the guests who enter our venues. The position requires knowledge of our venues, services, and policies in order to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for our patrons and clients.

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $11 to $13.

About the Venue

The Macon Centreplex is comprised of the Macon Coliseum and Macon City Auditorium. The Macon Coliseum is home to tenant hockey team, the Macon Mayhem and sits 9,000 patrons. Family shows, concerts, trade shows, GHSA, among others, are frequent entertainment in the venue. The Macon City Auditorium first opened in 1925 and has hosted iconic greats like Otis Redding, The Allman Brothers, and Little Richard. The venue hosts concerts, weddings, private galas, comedy shows, among other events, in its 2,500 seat space. The 10,000 capacity Amphitheater is due to open in Spring of 2024.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

· Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and guests.

· Be familiar with ticketing, seating sections, locations of various amenities, and venue policies & procedures.

· Greet large numbers of guests in a friendly and courteous manner.

· Attend to and maintain control of your assigned position during the course of each event.

· Secure entrance doors, stairwells, lobbies and backstage areas/access points.

· Have knowledge of event policies and authorized credentials.

· Monitor guests and enforce venue and event policies.

· Ensure that areas are safe for patrons and staff.

· Assist in crowd management, seating discrepancies, clearing aisles, and settling disputes.

· Anticipate and help with any trouble situations in your area.

· Respond in a quick and professional manner to incidents.

· Be aware of all special functions or activities that occur during the event.

· Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

· Must have a earned a high school diploma or equivalent GED

· Effective oral communication and writing skills in the English language

· Ability to interact with guests and staff on a professional basis

· Previous Customer Service experience preferred

· Must be friendly, courteous, outgoing, and polite with a positive attitude.

· Ability to manage high stress situations.

· Able to stand or move around for long periods of time.

· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including but not limited to mornings, days, nights, weekends

and some holidays

· Must be available for at least half of all events occurring within each month.
