APPOINTMENT: Full-Time, Limited (up to 3 years)
Based upon eligible funding, this position could continue beyond three years
SALARY RANGE: $25.29 – $36.71/hour ($52,806 - $76,650)

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success (CEVSS) grant is funding this Veteran Student Programs Specialist position and it will provide first level support to guide veteran students through academic and non-academic challenges by instructing students on higher education systems and practices. This position will build relationships with veteran students and develop student programming to meet the needs of in person and online students throughout the academic year. Providing support to students with facilitating networks in financial aid, academic services, business office, and career services. This position will work closely with our United States Navy Community College (USNCC) and Global Military Learning Network (GMLN) programs and complete School Certifying Official job tasks consistent with ATCC strategic workplan and CEVSS grant proposal.
This is the second position resulting from the CEVSS grant. This position will be working closely with the Veteran Student Project Coordinator. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of veteran students by advising and mentoring them through both academic and personal transitions into higher education. As the Veteran Student Programs Specialist, you'll play a vital role in shaping student success by providing one-on-one support, developing targeted programming, and helping veterans navigate essential campus services. Working closely with innovative initiatives like USNCC and GMLN, and contributing to a mission-driven team through the CEVSS grant, you'll be part of a supportive and forward-thinking environment that values service, connection, and student empowerment.
Minimum Qualifications (expected to have to enter job)
Two years of experience in sales and marketing or student services, working with veteran students, or related experience; and/or Associate’s degree substitutes for six months of experience, Bachelor’s degree substitutes for one year of experience.
Demonstrated familiarity with the culture and history of the military communities.
Demonstrated background and knowledge of the issues facing veteran students.
Strong interpersonal communication skills (oral and written).
Demonstrated skills in Microsoft software (Word, PowerPoint), spreadsheets, data entry and report writing experience.
Ability to travel in the state of Minnesota with valid driver’s license.
Ability to flex hours as needed to serve student programming
Preferred Qualifications (desired but not expected to have to enter job)
Bachelor’s degree.
Experience in higher education.
Demonstrated knowledge of college recruitment concepts and procedures.
Bilingual
Highly motivated and experienced in time management, to include handling a variety of assignments simultaneously.
