Product Investigations and Recalls, Senior Associate

*This is a hybrid in office, in office 4 days per week*

Wayfair seeks a highly motivated individual to join the Products and Retail compliance team dedicated to managing product safety investigations and product recalls processes.  This in-person position is based at Wayfair’s headquarters in our Boston office. The right candidate will be an integral part of our small team with broad responsibilities. This candidate will play an integral role in supporting Wayfair’s vast catalog of 40 million+ products through pragmatic policies and technology that provides the best customer experience.     

A successful candidate will have a strong interest in consumer products law, be proactive, and be able to build consensus across a broad set of cross-functional stakeholders. Candidates with legal and non-legal backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

• Develop policies and procedures that promote product quality and customer safety.
• Manage teams responsible for product recalls and product safety monitoring programs.
• Liaise with cross functional stakeholders to address product safety concerns and liaise with regulators to meet regulatory reporting obligations. 
• Create policies for handling complex, high-visible problems in creative, business-centric ways; the right candidate will be focused on process improvement and using technology to address safety at scale. 
• Work closely with our Merchandising and Category Management teams responsible for sourcing products and suppliers from around the world. 

What You'll Need

• 2-5+ years of experience in consumer product safety either at an ecommerce company or a regulatory agency.
• Highly organized, deliberate and objective in approach to project based assignments. 
• Ability to manage many concurrent projects with minimal supervision, customer service (internal and external) attitude, and willingness to master new and unfamiliar areas of practice.
• Excellent relationship-building skills. Embraces challenging situations with a solution-oriented mindset. Able to quickly build trust with stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to exercise independent judgment.
• A bachelor's degree with top academic credentials.
