The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
The person hired for the position of Project Engineer/Specialist will be responsible for providing price quotations for the commercial vehicle market. This is an exciting position working in an attractive technical environment. This position requires an individual with strong project management skills, who is a good decision maker with the ability to collect respond quickly to customer requests for quote and support the sales team. Typical development activities will take place in the Indianapolis office.

• Supporting existing business, providing price quotations to customers for new business opportunities, and evaluating competitive threats
• Providing sales team support to generate demand for geographic expansion of business
• Collaborating cross-functionally to ensure projects are executed successfully
• Working directly with customers & vendors to provide workable solutions to technical problems

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree, Bachelor of Science with quoting experience, or higher degrees (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
• One (1) year of Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Project, etc)
• One (1) year of experience dealing with customers and vendors directly in a private, public, government or military environment
• One (1) year of experience with engineering quotations

One or more of the additional qualifications below will help you succeed even further in this role:

• SAP proficiency (analytical report generation, inventory searches, etc)
• Experience using Smarteam PDM
• Experience reading and understanding engineering drawings
• Experience reading and understanding material specifications

Work location: Indianapolis, IN

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic
