Role Overview: 

As a Staff Software Engineer on the New Initiatives team at Veho, you will be shaping the future of our business by shipping software that explores the boundaries of what is possible in the logistics industry today and enables Veho to launch new products and market segments. The new initiatives team operates like a startup within a startup. You will be required to move fast, ship to production often, work cross-functionally across multiple teams and push through any obstacles that might show up to ship software that delights the brands that work with Veho and the consumers that receive the packages. This role requires a lot of ownership, initiative, and a fundamental drive to make an impact. We are looking for a “founder” type engineer to join us.

You will: 

• architect, build, test, deploy, and operationally own applications and services that enable business outcomes for clients

• own, modify, and scale design and specifications for complex applications

• provide technical leadership to the rest of the team for the projects you champion 

• work cross-functionally and inspire your peers to get work done

• contribute to and develop 

• be a good citizen of Veho Engineering and help us build a championship team

In the short term, you will likely help with the following: 

• integrate Veho’s platform with leading e-commerce and shipping platforms. 

• build extensions to Veho’s platform to enable new offerings in the market 

• focus on reverse logistics (and creating value-added offerings to enable seamless returns for consumers)

• partner with the data team to build the right dashboards to track the effectiveness of initiatives 

You have: 

• 8+ years experience in building, testing, and deploying applications in high-traffic multiple service complex production environments.

• 8+ years of experience in software development with technologies like: Javascript or Typescript, Node.js, React or React-Native (including the ability to flex between backend and frontend).

• strong communication skills to be successful in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment. 

• experience with cloud providers

• some experience or background in the e-commerce or transportation industry (bonus). 

• experience with AWS (bonus)

• experience developing serverless patterns.
