We are now recruiting for a Head of Accounting, Control & Projects, to provide leadership on all areas of financial accounting and control for the Irish Distillers Group.
Responsibilities
Management and optimisation of services provided by outsourcing partner QX Ltd.
Managing financial accounting operations/transactions and integrity of general ledger
Ensuring all balance sheet accounts are correctly stated and reconciled
Responsible for reviewing the consolidation packs for the IDG group (both at half year and full year) for reporting to the Pernod Ricard consolidation team, in accordance with IFRS. This includes responsibility for balance sheet, appendices and intercompany reconciliations.
Responsible for maintaining an effective system of internal controls
Leading the transformation initiatives relating to the balance sheet reporting and accounting effectiveness and efficiencies.
Liaise with the Pernod Ricard consolidation team on technical accounting issues and application of Group Accounting Guidelines
Lead contact for and management of external auditors, with responsibility for driving and maintaining the relationship with them.
Responsible for ensuring the external audit is coordinated and managed, including establishing appropriate fees and ensuring appropriate reporting of all issues.
Responsible for ensuring all statutory compliance matters (preparation of statutory accounts, etc.) are met for the various entities within the IDG group
Management and development of a high performing team, driving clear responsibilities, development and career planning.
Completion of ad hoc tasks / projects as required, especially in relation to providing technical accounting advice on any specific projects
Education, Professional Qualifications & Experience
Qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA or CIMA or similar qualification
Minimum 5+ years PQE
Skills
Strong people management skills, including the ability and desire to lead, support and develop direct reports.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to interact with senior stakeholders.
Excellent organizational skills as well as the ability to work effectively while managing numerous workstreams to tight timelines.
Ability to interact with non-finance departments, understanding their key requirements and tailoring processes to satisfy these requirements.
Ability to grow high talent teams
