Job Description:

Do you like to test boundaries?  Are you excited to see if security protections really work? Can you help technical leaders better protect their IT environments? Then GDIT is looking for you to fill an essential Senior Cybersecurity Assessor role.

GDIT is a leading cybersecurity solutions provider.  We have an immediate need for a Senior Cybersecurity Assessor help test cybersecurity controls across multiple programs. 
 

The ideal candidate will have experience leading cybersecurity assessments at various levels and against an array of security control baselines, including NIST SP 800-53 and NIST SP 800-171.

The successful candidate must understand not only control compliance, but the application of security protections to meet organizational risk tolerance and control objectives. They must be able to provide meaningful assessment results, including actionable recommendations to manage risk to programs and organizational assets.  She or he must demonstrate an exceptional work ethic, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a background in cyber assessment. They must be able to work with multiple stakeholders, often with differences in priorities, to meet assessment deadlines and intended outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and assess cybersecurity assessments.
  • Provide kickoff and final report briefings to programs and senior managers.
  • Meet assessment schedule deadlines.
  • Provide meaningful findings and recommendations to reduce cybersecurity risk.
  • Support strategic, operational, and tactical program planning and resource alignment.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • In close coordination with colleagues, develop and execute cybersecurity oversight assessment processes. 
  • Prepare cybersecurity assessment plans.
  • Conduct assessment kickoffs, interviews, and results briefings.
  • Document assessment findings.
  • Ensure all tasks are captured, assigned, and tracked.
  • Aid in prioritizing efforts and resources based on strategic and tactical goals and commitments.


Required Qualifications:

  • Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree, 10+ years of experience
  • Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals
  • Must be eligible for Secret Clearance
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a combination of the following: cybersecurity assessment, cybersecurity operations, security architecture, project management, cyber workforce development/training
  • Proficiency in written and oral communications across multiple stakeholder groups ranging from junior staff to senior executives. 
  • Experience developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), job aids, and hands-on training materials.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CISSP, PMP, CEH
  • Proven ability to develop staff in cyber control design and implementation.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing cybersecurity assessment plans.
  • Expert level technical writing skills.
