Since 2008, PCs for People has been a driving force behind digital inclusion efforts across the US. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, our mission is to provide access to technology that offers employment and educational opportunities to low-income individuals, families with children, and those with disabilities. Through an unwavering commitment to the communities we serve, we have connected over 300,000 people in all 50 states and Puerto Rico and recycled millions of pounds of electronics. Our services include free end-of-life IT asset management and certified data sanitization, technology refurbishing, computer distribution, computer repair, internet service and technology education. As a full Internet Service Provider (ISP), we are on the forefront of an innovative deployment model for affordable fixed wireless internet. Over the next year, we are poised to continue to launch hundreds of small cell LTE and 5G towers in cities around the county to help bring internet connectivity to those who need it most.
About The Role
The full-time Warehouse Lead is responsible for donation processing, inventory management, and supervising volunteers and warehouse staff, warehouse management, and hard drive handling based on NAID certified processes.
Role Responsibilities
- Maintaining supplies, personal protective equipment, tools, and equipment to ensure compliance and safety
- Maximizing production floor space and efficiency
- Coordinating individual and small group work with clients, staff, and volunteers
- Developing and meeting productivity goals
- Training new staff and volunteers on basic functions of PCs for People processes
- Sorting, cleaning and organizing donation inventory
- Coordination, setup and management of volunteer events at warehouse
- Moving inventory with pallet jacks and forklifts
- Representing PCs for People favorably when interacting with donors
- Communicating PCs for People’s procedures around NAID and donation processing when transferring ownership of equipment from donors
- Recording inventory of incoming equipment
- Receiving, storing, moving, and packing outgoing inventory
- Other duties as assigned
Desired Skills/Qualifications
- 2+ years of warehouse leadership experience
- Ability to make decisions quickly and confidently based on organization's policies
- Able to work independently, be dependable, adaptable
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
- Ability to self-direct tasks/activities and problem solve independently
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Maintain a professional but friendly demeanor
- Pays close attention to detail
