Description
You will be responsible for leading a team of talented engineers who are building and maintaining a highly performant search backend. You will influence both technical and product direction, and be responsible for bringing the latest advancements in Search, Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Language Modeling to drive a major impact on the way people search & discover Apple Media content on devices worldwide! The team has strong expertise in Search, Information Retrieval, Machine Learning, Language processing, Data Mining, and Distributed Computing (Hadoop, Scala, Spark). You will use data driven analysis to ideate, evaluate and prioritize search features, and conduct A/B tests to ensure we objectively measure improvements. You will ensure successful delivery of features, code, data, and models to production. You will collaborate with client, platform, product, design and other functions to ensure that features are functioning at or above expected performance levels, globally in languages from Arabic to Vietnamese and everything in between!
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven track record of managing high-performance engineering teams, and leading complex engineering and cross-functional projects
- Expertise in successfully building and delivering customer-facing products & experiences in close partnership with various business groups, including creative teams, such as design and UX.
- Dedicated, motivated, self-driven problem solver with strong cross-functional partnerships and leadership skills
- Proactive communicator, with experience guiding strong results from teams that span geographic boundaries
- Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and grow technical teams
- Solid understanding of A/B experimentation and data-driven product development
Preferred Qualifications
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent work experience
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $219,300 and $329,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
