About you and this role:
 

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulatory Compliance Specialist located in Freeport, TX.

In this role, you will serve as a DOT Regulatory Compliance Specialist supporting Dow's Texas Site Pipeline Operations and Freeport Stratton Ridge Operations to ensure compliance with the Department of Transportation's Pipeline Hazardous Materials Administration (DOT PHMSA) and the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRCT).

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Gulf Coast DOT Compliance Leader and team in impact assessments and implementation of new external regulatory requirements.

  • Supports implementation projects that impact the pipeline and caverns facilities.

  • Leads Texas Operations' OM&E (Operations, Maintenance & Emergency Response) and OQ (Operator Qualification) programs.

  • Leads the facilities' Audit and Permit renewal/reporting programs.

  • Under the guidance of the Gulf Coast DOT Compliance Leader, responds to regulatory requests.

  • Provides technical support to the facilities on DOT/RRCT related issues. This includes time in the field, roles on project teams, etc.

  • Provides guidance to operations on DOT matters.

  • Evaluate cost-effective DOT improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Ability to work comfortably and safely at elevated heights. Candidates must be familiar with, or willing to undergo training in, the proper usage and maintenance of safety equipment to ensure safe movement and operations at heights.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM field.
