About the Role

Zero Hash is looking for an experienced Payment Operations lead who will manage and optimize the daily operations for our fiat products, including the recently implemented ACH program, ensuring efficient financial transactions and customer satisfaction. This role is expected to expand to take on additional growth as new, novel fiat payment strategies are ideated and implemented.

The ideal candidate is AAP certified and adept with ACH operations, and also has experience with card processing and payment fraud mitigation.

The ideal candidate is technically proficient, has industry knowledge related to high risk transactions, possesses excellent communication skills, and has experience distilling complex concepts and strategies into actionable insights and tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Lead operational POC for new fiat product launches such as ACH, debit/credit acceptance, RTP payouts, etc. `
• Lead the development and execution of comprehensive risk management strategies across ACH and expanding payment operations
• Monitor return ratios, support law enforcement inquiry investigations as needed, and both manage and monitor monetary loss
• Analyze and assess potential risks with returns and NACHA violations to identify trends and patterns
• Manage loss reserve calibration and policies for approaching return rate limits across multiple clients
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including settlement operations, product, and compliance to ensure a cohesive approach to risk management
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging regulations, particularly within crypto
• Collaborate with other team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth

Requirements:

• Monitor ACH credit/debit returns against exposure limits and multiple settlement dates
• Implement processes to send the minimum level of info relating to NOCs, prenotes, and returns within NACHA, card network rules, and other regulatory timeframes
• Identify gaps and prepare mitigating action plans in the Company’s ability to successfully present against unauthorized ACH returns
• Define the audit trail needed to meet record retention requirements and track returns
• Ability to string together a SQL query to be able to dig in and answer questions you have
• Prior experience with owning and executing on a payment strategy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas into clear, concise, and actionable insights or tasks
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and stakeholder
• Proactive and self-motivated – you have a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies
• Strong decision-making skills – you know how to make a decision, document why you made that decision, and pivot/iterate quickly when things change
• Humility – you are not afraid to ask questions and you don’t hesitate to recognize colleagues and give credit where credit is due

Preferred

• Experience in crypto or a high risk industry
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment
• Proficiency in using project management and collaboration tools
• Experience with vendor review and selection
