The Medical Affairs Lead, Infectious Diseases & Immunity will work closely with the global business team to develop the medical strategy and execute the medical plan to support the commercialization and global utilization of related Roche Diagnostic Solutions (RDS) products, particularly in the virology portfolio. 

The Medical Affairs Lead will be responsible for activities related to non-registrational clinical trials; this includes responsibility for the investigator initiated study program.  In addition, the Medical Affairs Lead will ensure that targeted data sets are presented at key scientific meetings and international congresses and submitted to peer-reviewed journals according to the publication plan.  

The Medical Affairs Lead will be responsible for supporting planning of scientific advisory boards and scientific symposia according to the medical plan; and will be an in-house expert on medical practice in the fields of infection and immunity.

  • You will conduct literature reviews and write publication summaries to keep business stakeholders up to date on recent evidence; you will be responsible for the delivery of scientific symposia and educational events at key internal meetings and international scientific congresses: including managing speakers, review of publications for scientific and medical content; and ensuring marketing and sales collateral is accurate and supported by medical literature

  • You will develop and leverage thought leader relationships with Roche needs as advisors, investigators and speakers and work with communication leads to curate medical content and evidence to support business activities

  • You will contribute to the International Business Team by developing the medical strategy and tactical plan; providing support of RDS scientific activities for product launches and post-marketing support through scientific material development, speaking events and publications; and work with regional and local Clinical Development/Medical Affairs (CDMA) representatives

  • You will be responsible for managing (overseeing coordinating and reporting of) non-registrational clinical trials by contributing to the global study support strategy and initiatives across the portfolio, managing the medical affairs budget and establishing/supporting the development of medical affairs process, strategies and initiatives in alignment with the organization

  • You are responsible for CDMA investigator studies relevant to infection and immunity

This position can be onsite at one of our US Roche Sites or remote. 

Who You Are

  • You hold an MD, MD/PhD or PhD with subject matter expertise in infectious diseases and/or immunology

  • You have 8+ years experience including clinical experience with management (or laboratory testing) of respiratory infections including viral infections, bacterial infections and mycobacterial infections (including experience with immunocompromised populations)

  • You have experience interpreting and presenting scientific data
     

Preferred

  • You have a proven track record of performing in a fast-paced, matrix environment

  • You have the preclinical/clinical research, pharmaceutical project management, or product marketing-related experience

  • You have the ability to partner across diverse regions, cultures, and time zones to create an environment of belonging, inclusion and diversity.

  • Interpersonal skills: Strong interpersonal, verbal communication and influencing skills: can influence without authority and has proven experience building  and cultivating relationships with key partners and stakeholders, both internally and externally
