Associate Accounting Coordinator

As an Associate Accounting Coordinator you will under direct supervision, analyze and record secondary cost transactions and process approved cost items for timely payment. Coordinate with scheduling, marketing and external vendors to ensure proper recording/classification of transactions and resolve issues related to open item aging of general ledger accounts.

• Records journal entries, performs reconciliations, and makes adjustments and/or corrections as necessary.
• Processes basic secondary cost items for timely payment.
• Coordinates and works with scheduling, marketing and external vendors to ensure proper recording/classification of transactions and to resolve issues related to open item agings of assigned general ledger accounts.
• Performs month-end close duties to ensure accurate financial reporting (e.g., secondary cost accruals, profit center reclasses, etc.).
• Assists with variance analysis for assigned account groups to identify issues and make adjustments as needed.
• Assists with special projects for management or other operational areas as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.

Preferred Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or higher level degree - in Accounting
• 1 year of Accounting experience
• Refinery or related experience

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
