As a Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for developing strong and effective business partner relationships and providing strategic sourcing support to the CMO organization. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Sourcing, you will use your experience to deliver significant value to key partners by managing the end-to-end strategic sourcing process for Marketing and Advertising (your primary spend category) and associated sub-categories as needed.
Your core category and subcategory responsibilities will include but are not limited to, Marketing and Advertising sourcing engagements to drive savings through market-driven strategies and negotiations.
This is a hybrid role based in Indianapolis or Atlanta.
Your Impact:
Develop strong relationships with and be recognized as a valued partner by the Marketing collaborators to influence business decisions
Collaborate with Finance and functional partners to develop strategic sourcing plans with well-defined cost savings and avoidance targets
Achieve year-over-year improvements in Marketing spend, without sacrificing quality and service
Conduct all phases in the development of sophisticated contracts, including reviewing statements of work or requirements, request for information (RFI), and request for proposal (RFP) development
Partner with a broad mix of collaborators on contract evaluation, redlining, and negotiation, such as Legal, Privacy, Information Security, and Internal Controls
Continually improve supplier performance by setting measurable, contractual, performance targets and related supplier performance management
Stay abreast of changes in the market, such as emerging technologies and suppliers, and evaluate and address any impact of changes in supplier status (eg, via acquisition)
Build and implement a plan to identify and evaluate diverse suppliers, to increase the percentage of category spend with diverse suppliers
Advocate for and track compliance to Salesforce Indirect Spend and Delegation of Authority policies by delivering periodic training, aka "road shows," and appropriately calling out non-compliance
Provide thought leadership and support to ad hoc projects optimizing Strategic Sourcing's effectiveness, for example, by proposing and implementing process improvements
Strategize across categories/departments to find opportunities for gained efficiencies and cost-effectiveness in supplier negotiations
Build project plans and timelines to ensure key turning points are being captured and met as it relates to the sourcing process
Close sourcing projects promptly, including but not limited to uploading completed agreements to our contract lifecycle management, and security partner and finance approval on savings or cost avoidance
Effectively communicate status updates to key team members, including timely identification and resolution of issues
Keep up to date with market trends in the category and procurement functions
Bring standard methodologies in Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, and Indirect Procurement to drive automation and simplification.
Participating actively to improve Salesforce’s Sustainability, Supplier Diversity, and 3rd party Risk goals.
Qualifications:
8+ years of strategic sourcing experience, with strong expertise in multiple technology product and service categories in multinational corporations
Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the values & behaviors for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)
Experience in sourcing multiple key categories with an emphasis in marketing
Excellent prioritization skills with the ability to adapt and change quickly.
