Dairy Service Rep/Sales

Description

The Dairy Service Representative is responsible for managing a designated sales territory for promoting and providing customer service to dairy farms. The individual will be responsible for consulting and building strong relationships with customers and future customers to further support Gold Star Feed sales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Liaison between feed mill and dairy farm operation
• Manage credit extended to customers
• Sell calf feed & milk replacer to dairymen
• Sell silage inoculant to dairymen
• Sell seed corn to dairymen
• Solicit non-customers to consider feed with Gold Star
• Provide calf clinics on farms to demonstrate effective feed program
• Check silage particle size and kernel processing score during harvest
• Track corn seeding rates by field and harvest yield and quality
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, or a related field preferred.

· Honesty, Integrity, Trustworthy, Self-Starter, & Assertive

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships

· Two years of experience in sales in the animal nutrition industry preferred

· Understanding of feed commodity values and sales practices.

· Positive, self-motivated individual with strong communication, planning, and organizational skills; business acumen expected.

· Strong computer skills.

· Strong customer service commitment.

Physical Demands

· Frequent sitting, use of computer, communication via telephone

· Ability to navigate an office environment.

· Daily local travel required
