Job Summary

The Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer III (RDCS-III) is part of the patient care team and is entrusted with the care of patients undergoing cardiac sonographer studies on an inpatient and/or outpatient basis.

Pay Range

Minimum $47.99 Midpoint $63.60 Maximum $79.20

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience

• Required: Minimum five years of pediatric cardiac sonography experience. Minimum two years of adult experience may count as one year of pediatric experience, with a minimum four years of pediatric cardiac sonography experience required.

Education

• Required: Graduate recognized program for echocardiography required

• Required: In depth knowledge of cardiac pathology and performing diagnostic echocardiograms. Consistently demonstrates ability to perform advanced imaging techniques and recognize situations that require unplanned actions in the moment responding in a flexible and appropriate manner. Promotes teamwork to achieve CHOC's mission; and understand patient family centered care and exceed customer expectations, effectively solve complex patient care and organizational problems, role model positive professional behavior and readily shares knowledge to promote team development. Able to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; accept direction ; work independently yet flexible to meet patient and department needs; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments; compose written material; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail and ensure fiscal responsibility.

• Preferred: Bilingual.

Licensure

• Required: Basic Life Support Certification (BLS); Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography (RDCS-PE) credentialing in Pediatric Echocardiography by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonography (RCCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

• Preferred: Fetal Echocardiography Credential from ARDMS.

Work Environments - Functional Demand:

Light - Moderate energy level Lift and carry 25-35 lbs. Push/pull 50-100 lbs. (ie. empty bed, stretcher).
