Sr Director Executive & Corporate Security - North America

Role Overview: This position has oversight for overall safety and security for North America ADM facilities and operations. This role will oversee all security operations, including physical security measures, senior executives protection, transportation, emergency preparedness and business continuity. This position will work closely with other departments to ensure security strategies align with the company's goals while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. This leadership role will report directly to the Vice President of Global Security, and functionally to the Senior Vice President and General Counsel. 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee regional security operations, ensuring protection of personnel, property, and information through surveillance, intrusion detection, and perimeter security.
  • Implement executive protection programs for ADM leaders, including secure transportation, threat assessments, and security detail coordination.
  • Act as GHQ Safety Officer, promoting a culture of health and safety in the workplace.  Enhance safety protocols through technology and intelligence resources.
  • Oversee access control systems, ensuring proper authorization and conducting quarterly audits across regional facilities.
  • Strengthen emergency preparedness and crisis management plans, coordinating with local authorities and internal teams.
  • Develop location specific training and drill programs, integrating security protocols into employee onboarding.
  • Develop and maintain business continuity plans to ensure uninterrupted critical operations during incidents, collaborating with relevant departments for swift recovery.
  • Ensure security operations comply with regulations.
  • Conduct security assessments and risk assessment to identify vulnerabilities, working with internal audit, enterprise risk and legal teams.
  • Manage third-party security providers, including contract negotiations and performance monitoring.
  • Work with HR, Legal, and IT for an integrated security approach.
  • Update senior leadership on security strategies and risk mitigation.
  • Lead and develop the security team across North America, ensuring training and readiness for all security roles.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPP, PSP, CISSP) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 15-20 years of deep and broad experience in security management, with at least 10 years in a leadership role overseeing security for multiple facilities and complex operations.
  • Leadership or management level supervisory experience, with executive protection and transportation security strongly preferred.
  • Solid background in emergency preparedness and crisis management plans.
  • Skilled in leading and developing a regional security team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High proficiency in security technologies, surveillance systems, access control systems, and security incident reporting tools.
  • Solid experience with emergency management and crisis communication platforms.
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure.
Location: This is an onsite position based in Chicago, IL, requiring a daily presence at the company's  Global Headquarters.  This position requires regular travel to all facilities within the North A
