Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for Equipment Engineers to join our Production Engineering organization in Everett, WA. This Electrical Equipment focused position will support exciting new endeavors in the Fabrication Division.

A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to be out on the production floor, interacting with mechanics, safety, and equipment services, and directly supporting the production system. In Production Engineering, we need highly responsible professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity.

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Mid-Level, and Senior engineers.

Primary Responsibilities:

This is an equipment development, implementation, and improvement role. This role involves reviewing electrical schematics, control panel designs, and troubleshooting technical issues. Additionally, the role requires project management, testing, and commissioning of automated system acquisition and modification projects:

  • Evaluate program and project requirements, develop complex equipment concepts and design solutions for the Production System.
  • Compile and analyze technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design, usability, and rate estimates.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and release bid and purchase specifications for equipment needs from suppliers.
  • Troubleshoot current production issues related to quality, safety, and repeatability.
  • Develop and implement work-arounds and maintain configuration of hardware and documentation.
  • Perform studies and make recommendations for disposition of assets.

This position is a Production Engineering role and requires direct interfacing with the people and equipment on the production floor. A typical day could include:  

  • Spending up to 8 hours on feet standing/walking on the production floor
  • Working around industrial equipment in factories that are not air conditioned
  • Climbing ladders or stairs to access equipment
  • Working at heights or in tight spaces
  • Wearing required PPE: Steel toed shoes, Hearing protection, Safety glasses,High visibility vests/jackets

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 2 or more years’ related engineering work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Mid-Level)
  • 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Senior Level)
  • Electrical Engineering Degree
  • 2 or more years’ experience with PLC programming troubleshooting
  • 2 or more years of project management experience supporting complex technical projects, evaluating/selecting equipment solutions, and assessing electrical system requirements
  • 2 or more years of experience with programming languages such as Java and SQL
  • 2 or more years of experience working to industry standards related to electrical system design
  • Experience in Automation and robotics
