Job Summary: This Posting is for Current Internal ADHS Applicants ONLY.The Quality Assurance (QA) Administrator oversees the quality assurance program within the statewide population-based cancer registry and surveillance program, ensuring compliance with national standards. Involves long-range strategic planning and leadership of daily management operations of the QA Unit, under the general direction of the Office of Health Registries Systems Manager. Supervises a team of staff, interns, and temporary contracted personnel. Reviews staff work products, formulates improvement plans, and consults on the QA Unit's budgetary needs. The QA Administrator executes and supervises complex advanced technical work. Develops and conducts audits and studies, reports findings to internal and external stakeholders. This position ensures hospitals and other required entities comply with state statutes and regulations governing program data standards of accuracy, timeliness, and completeness. Performs program evaluation, manages the death clearance protocol, co-leads federal and national data submissions, and oversees the statewide Training Program and policy development. The QA Administrator will collaborate closely with the registry epidemiologist and operations supervisor to enhance quality and training initiatives. This position facilitates data linkages and inter-registry data.
Job Duties:Effective and efficient management of the Arizona Cancer Registry QA Unit within the program, including hiring and training of staff, supervision of staff, writing of performance evaluations, maximizing of resources, collaborative planning, and creation of work plans addressing all deliverables for quality assurance initiatives. Includes oversight of training activities, updates to internal policy/procedure manual, and development of guidance documents.
Plans and conducts statewide assessments of cancer registry data quality through audits and studies of reporting hospitals and other entities to ensure compliance with state and national regulations. Develops protocols, design software applications, and generates reports based on findings. Communicates results to internal and external stakeholders. Works collaboratively to involved develop with the audits. Internal dashboard to monitor compliance. Oversees the budget for audit activities and manages the staff.
Oversees and manages the annual death clearance project, and provides direction to staff involved in process. Ensures compliance with the national death clearance accuracy standards. Collaborates with the epidemiologist to enhance the process, which involves integrating hospital discharge data and utilizing the Health Information Exchange (HIE).
Monitors the federal grant in relation to the objectives and performance measures of the Quality Assurance Program, ensures that all activities meet and exceed established standards. Oversees the CDC Data Quality Evaluation and program evaluation requirements of the federal grant. Develops, implements and evaluates policies, procedures, standards and guidelines for the Quality Assurance Program and contributes to the writing of grants and other funding proposals.
Serves as the subject matter expert for cancer registry applications such as Match*Pro, Web Plus, GenEdits, and EditWriter to further enhance the reporting capabilities of the registry.
